Sand Fire to Pardoo Roadhouse

Monday 1st August.
Bad news for Cameron and to a lesser extent Christel, as it was back to school this morning after 2 weeks holidays. Then it was pack up and on the road to Pardoo.  More of the same scenery and road.  We were soon set up, and after lunch headed off to the beach.
The access road to Cape Keraudren and the nearby beach was also 11km down a dirt road.  Cape Keraudren is in a National park with camping available right by the beach.  We had decided that if the access road was not too bad, and the beach was nice, we would take the caravan down and camp there for a few days.
The road was good enough to take the caravan, so now it was just a matter of checking out the beach.  As we got closer to the beach, we came across four Brolga’s  beside a small stream.  We were extremely lucky to spot these relatively rare,  gracious birds, well known for their very showy and complicated courting dances.
When we got to the end of the road there were three or four camp sites spread out around the cape, with several tracks leading down to the beaches.  We drove down one and found ourselves looking along about 20km of beach with a stream running across the beach, and not a person in sight. Perfect.  We spent the rest of the day on the beach and decided to bring the van down the next day.
